Our client is a full-service direct marketing agency, 40 years in business, with strategy, creative, data and targeting, digital, and direct mail production under one roof. Direct mail is having its moment while digital costs climb, and this agency is investing in it, not harvesting it. You will grow the direct mail business by selling recurring, measurable campaign programs to mid-sized organizations, positioning direct mail as a marketing solution with data, testing, performance creative, digital integration, and reporting behind it. This is deliberately not commodity print: you will walk away from lowest-price bids and one-time mailings, and build client programs that renew and grow instead. You are the first seller dedicated 100% to this. Any vertical, no territories, and a VP title that means something.
• A hunter with 7+ years selling direct mail, direct response, or print marketing programs
• You have personally sourced, developed, negotiated, and closed new clients, and can name them
• You know production: estimating, formats, personalization, lettershop, postal, data processing
• You can talk to marketers about acquisition, targeting, testing, and measurement, not just price per piece
• If you need the phone to ring first, or you want to live off inherited accounts, this is not your role
• A proactive new-business strategy and pipeline for direct mail clients
• Discovery through proposal, pricing, negotiation, and close, with production and agency experts beside you
• Client launch, then expansion: more frequency, more audiences, more formats, digital extensions
• CRM discipline: pipeline, forecasts, activity
A dedicated marketing and business development leader, an outbound BDR team setting meetings, HubSpot with buyer-intent signals, a full RFP team, and in-house production that delivers what you sell.
• $200,000 to $300,000 on-target earnings, base plus commission
• The base is permanent, not a draw, and it is paid in full while you build your book
• 100% employee-owned (ESOP): company-funded equity accounts on top of your compensation
• 401(k) with a 10% company match
• Flexible time off; remote with travel to clients and industry conferences
